DAILY TASKS FOR YOUR CLEANING SCHEDULE

Do chores seem to pile up all week and by the time the weekend rolls around it is just too much to tackle? A lot of people feel like housework is just impossible to keep up with. Between school, work, activities, sports, lessons, meetings, homework and everything else that goes on in your family during the week, it's no wonder that time is valuable and housework is often what gets pushed aside in the endless list of responsibilities.

Cleaning small amounts each morning before work or each night before bed could be the answer. Save bigger, more time consuming tasks, like vacuuming, mopping, and laundry for the weekend. Make yourself small list of things to quickly go over each day to make your weekend cleaning schedule much easier to manage.

Start by determining what you can work into your daily routine. Make a list of things that you find to be easy to squeeze in and then add to the list as the week goes on. By the end of the week you should have a personalized list of things that you can do on a daily basis to help keep the house under control.

I like to divide cleaning tasks into sections. Make a list of each room in your house that needs to be cleaned. List chores in each room that can be quickly done when you are in that room anyway. For example, when I'm getting ready for work, I go into my bathroom first thing. I have "wipe down countertop and sink" on Monday, "sanitize and clean the toilet" on Tuesday, "spray down and wipe out the tub" on Wednesday, "spray and wipe the mirror" on Thursday, and "empty trash and sweep the floor" on Friday. Each thing adds less than 5 minutes to my morning routine and the bathroom stays clean all week long.

Do the same for other rooms in your home. When you wake up the kids for school, walk through and toss toys in toy boxes and laundry in laundry baskets on your way across the room. Don't worry about finishing the job or cleaning the whole room. Just do a tiny bit when you go through your daily routines and the house will stay pretty much in order all the time.

Making a personalized schedule that fits with your busy life is a great way to reduce stress and stay on top of housework. Don't let it get so bad that you can never have the time block that you would need to finish it all at once. Make a commitment to yourself and your family and you'll find yourself never stressing over housework again.
